How to do a Search

There are two ways to search the Infrastructure Searchable Database:

1. Word Search
The word Search method allows you to enter a key word(s) in the search box. All records that include the key word(s) will be returned. (This method is an "and" search so the records returned must include all words entered in the search field.)

2. Category Search
The Category Search method allows you to search by any of the following categories: Geographic Focus, Eligibility, Type of Support, and/or Project Phase. It then allows you to search by Areas of Interest. (Since this method is an "and" search, the records retrieved must combine all your choices from each search field, which will really narrow your search to only those funders that fund all your choices, not just one or two. We suggest you start with only one area of interest and only one or two sub-areas of interest to get the most funders. If you get too many funders, you can then go back and narrow your search with more categories and sub-areas, one at a time.)

Step One: Geographic Focus
Select "All Funders" if you want to view programs supported by local, statewide, and national grantmakers.

or

Select "Statewide" if you want to view programs available throughout the State of Washington.

or

Select a specific county if you want to view programs only available in the selected county.

Step Two: Eligibility
Select the category that applies to your organization.

or

Select "Other" if you are seeking funding for a type of organization not listed.

or

Select "All" to keep your search open to programs available to any type of organization.

Step Three: Types of Support
Select the specific type of support that you are seeking.

or

Select "Other" if you are seeking a type of support that is not listed.

or

Select "All" to keep your search open to all possible types of support.

Step Four: Project Phase
Select the specific phase of your project for which you are seeking support.

or

Select "Other" if you are seeking support for a project phase that is not listed.

or

Select "All" to keep your search open to support for all project phases.

Step Five: Areas of Interest
There are ten major Categories of Interest with specific sub-categories listed below them.

Select the appropriate click box within these major categories for programs that support a specific sub-category.

or

Select the "Other" click box within these major categories for programs that support a specific sub-category not listed.

or

Select the "All" click box within these major categories for all of the programs that offer support within the selected category.
